Portrait Photography

I began shooting portraits three years ago. My very first customer was in the graduating class of 2022 and she asked me to take her senior pictures. I had never done it before, but photography is about risks. I took a risk and now I have done more than 35 senior sessions.

My approach focuses on individual personality. At the end of the day I want to capture the person I’m photographing. I want the pictures to feel like them. That’s why I take time in my sessions to connect with my clients. I ask questions and try to get a look into who they are. I often have them lead, at certain points, in choosing how they pose. I call these self-lead photographs. While it is my job to direct the client, I challenge them to do what feels best - the results are sometimes better than any direction I could have given them. This makes the photo feel realistic, and personal to that person. Being a photographer is a two person job, really. It’s me and the client working together to make magic happen.

Every year I learn new things!!! This year I have begun my Pinterest journey as something that can hold my hand with posing and editing. I’m currently working on revamping my process! If you are wanting to get a feel for the types of photos I will be taking, I highly suggest looking at these boards. I strive to deliver unique photos and it starts here.

P.S. I am 100% up to make a shared personalized Pinterest board for your shoot. Message me and we can figure that out!
